The mission of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Student Chapter at University of California, Irvine (UCI) is to promote excellence within the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (CBE) of the UCI Henry Samueli School of Engineering. This is accomplished by providing our members the necessary resources and support to succeed academically and advance professionally.
Our Goals
To promote the professional development of our members through programs and relations with other student chapters and organizations, and with the parent body, AIChE.
To contribute to the development of chemical engineering at UCI through activities involving faculty, industry professionals, and students.
To strengthen the chemical engineering program at UCI by bringing more students into chemical engineering via outreach events to high schools, middle schools, and community colleges.
Being a Chemical Engineer means innovating for the future. As we continue to consume resources and create more products for science, it is crucial that our practices preserve our climate and the living space around us.
Chemical Engineering is a very broad and diverse field. Communication between other innovative minds of varying age groups and backgrounds is the first step to success. Through our Industry Networking Nights, workshops, and industry/alumni presentations, students will have the opportunity to talk with those already in their desired fields.
Chemical Engineering is a tough discipline. However, we're all in this together! Through cooperation and communication, we can all learn and grow as a collective.
